Good Web Site.
Thanks for coming
Looking real nice mike. I like the big bang painting and thank you for hosting Wolfhart he's good friend.
Good Story ,so far .
So, What period are the rocks from ?
went to members area on science forums and saw your info and am very pleased to see an electronics background. I have built a traditional circloton amp using a grommes 260A front end as preamp/phase inverter and have 6- 6550s outputs per channel. I have made 3 main mods to it, using a series string for the filaments off the 120V line, a novel way of driving the output tube grid rails (ICFRD) and a new (to me) way to bias each output side with a single floating supply instead of two. All the details are on Audio Karma, and you may already be on it since you are "in the business" ...I have recently been (again) trying to elicit interest in the development of diamond coated cathodes in tubes...and seem to have run into a brick wall on that one....as they were promised years ago to be able to supply a useable electron flow without filaments...as sort of "super cold cathode" that supposedly worked with normal plate voltages....anyway that has been one of my "white whales" since I read a Scientific American article in October of 1992 that claimed a working prototype built at MIT. Of course understanding the "why anything" question is a even more elusive animal.....I guess you may say I have "job security" in that area ...haha....I am 62, single and living in missouri, but am making arrangments to move to colorado next year......edd
Audio Karma is a site that caters to electronics hobbiests and DIYers who build their own home stereos, guitar amps, and related. I have noticed you are in Devon, I presume that is in England. I recently emailed with a company called "diamondhardsurfaces" in England that has a low temp process that will coat any thing you want (even plastics) with a nano-crystalline diamond surface. For awhile it looked like I could get a few samples to try to build my own prototype cold cathode triodes.....you can go into AK and read my threads if interested in any electronics related projects of mine. In short, a circlotron amplifier uses multipule output tubes with no output transformer...the output is coupled directly from the cathodes to the speakers, creating a unique clarity. Yes, the physics stuff is best discussed on the science forums site...I like your paintings. That is the first thing I went to see. I've dabbled in a few art projects now and then, mostly then.....edd
Nice to see you in Norfolk the other week Mike - nice website!
I didn't want to post this on any of the forums because I didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea. I am not selling a book. I read through your site and thought you might be interested in some fun reading. I recently wrote a book; it's on Amazon. I will be offering it free on April 9th and 10th 2015 and am inviting you to download it and give it a read. I think you will, if nothing else, find parts of it interesting.
Dan , Will look out for your book on Amazon . Thanks . Mike
oops...I forgot to supply the link http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TMHEE2
Your portal labelled ' OTHER ' is a delight. Hi Mike .. further to our pheonix discussion put Painting Clouds Perspective into a search engine. Two more .. Moebius and Escher.. See you. ed
